Nutritional Therapy One

Nutritional Therapy

Nutritional therapy exerts two roles. Firstly, what is making a person ill and secondly, how appropriate nutrition may help them get better.  Correct nourishment of the body assists in warding off the major degenerative diseases such as heart disease, obesity, arthritis, cancer and diabetes. Therefore we are what we eat and absorb.

Nutritional medicine is a holistic therapy it focuses on the whole person whilst improving the symptoms. It unravels the answers to good health by addressing all the possible factors that may be contributing to the person’s health situation. Although this will obviously embrace the present, and most notably, past eating habits, other non-nutritional factors will also need addressing. These will include general lifestyle habits, pollution and stress profiles and working patterns and medical history.

This therapy works on the theory that good nutrition will contribute to a dramatic effect on the immune system therefore aiding the body to heal itself. This therapy can be used for everyone as a preventative; it promotes the correct balance to enable one to remain in peak condition, or to return to their former state of good health.

Our energy, overall physical vibrancy and zest for life are directly influenced by what we consume.  We cannot expect to eat junk food and feel healthy, strong and ready to deal effectively with what life places before us on a regular basis. STRESS is compounded by what we eat; too many inappropriate food choices will most definitely worsen any problem – chronic or acute.

What can Nutritional Therapy do for me?

·        It treats the cause rather than the symptoms

·        It helps to prevent the problem, rather than wrestling with the formidable diseases once they are firmly implanted in the body.

·        A longer more vibrant life, rather than a semi-ambulatory existence before death in the eighth decade.

·        A more rational approach to healing – personal involvement in health rather than complete reliance on others.

Working with personal biochemistry rather than trying to jam warning signals.
